Some Updates from Around the Inn:

  • We welcome two new front desk staff, Laurie and Elena and a new housekeeper Aline. Say hi if you’re around! More information about them soon!
  • We had our side courtyard re-bricked and are working on plantings and new seating, plantings are underway on deck, front and back doors of the inn; and there.  are6 new a/c’s this year! Even more a reason to come visit!
  • Our Frequent Friend Program is running strong,
  • The new website is coming soon!
  • Rustica Kitchen opened next door and is excellent for lunch. Check out a menu!
  • Boats are in the harbor
  • Our Fitzroy Top 10 is going to become Top 12 soon. Stay tuned.

It is longest distance in race history at around 47,000 nautical miles! These athletes will be coming from Itajai, Brazil to Newport which is 5,500 nm and takes 19 days. Want tol get a first-hand taste of the race?

From May 19 – 20 The Newport Oyster Festival connects Rhode Island growers with the oyster fanatics. There are tons of restaurants and chefs that specialize in them and sponsors, non profits, and exhibitors around.  Tickets are $27 in advance for each day. See the schedule and buy  advance purchase tickets which includes four fresh, Rhode Island oysters and a beverage, live music, event program & tasting notes, contests and more.

Escaping to Newport on Memorial Day Weekend?

Enjoy a harbor cruise with 12 Meter Charters and a visit to Newport Vineyards. Your visit to Newport Vineyards will include a tour, tasting. Sip and sail into all the information.

Feel up for a bike ride? Bike Newport invites you, new, and beginner riders to learn how to ride, bike safety skills and getting comfortable on a bike. Plan a ride with friends to get out into the fresh air!

Want to learn more about mushrooms? On May 26, join expert mushroom hunters for a guided hike through Ballard Park. Experts Ryan and Emily will share secrets as well as information about the unique roles fungi play in the ecosystem. According to their websites the most bloomed in their gardens in late May are Jack in the Pulpit, Ornamental Onions, Columbines, Ferns, Lupines, Japanese Snowbell, Campanula, Nepeta, Forget-Me-Nots, Violas, Summer Snowflake, Sicilian Honey Garlic, and Deutzia.
