Free Beach Parking after Labor Day!

As if you needed another reason to visit our beautiful beaches this season, the most popular sunbathing spots will offer free parking after Lobor Day…while the weather is still warm, take advantage of this sweet perk. We have a couple of beach chairs and room to stay here at the inn so make your way and soak up the last days of summer in the sand!


Colony House Speakeasy Soiree September 14!

Looking for something different to do? Find your way to the Speakeasy at the Colony House for an evening of history blended with style with 1920’s entertainment, drinks and food, and a few surprises! Featuring soprano jazz vocalist Elise M. Roth, and costumed interpreters who will perform period dancing. Come dressed in your festive attire and use the password to enter through the secret doorway! International Boat Show- September 12- 15

Back again is Newport International Boat Show The Newport International Boat Show encompasses thirteen acres of Newport’s downtown waterfront. September 12-15, 2019 view exhibitors from near and far offer a full range of new powerboats and sailboats, plus a medley of marine products, services, and accessories to enhance the nautical lifestyle. Special events, seminars, and in-water boating courses for the whole family are offered on all show days. Not to be missed is the exciting Newport For New Products program – showcasing boats and boating products making their first-ever debut in the United States.

4 Bridges Ride - Sunday September 15th

Attention active travelers! The seventh annual 4 Bridges Ride is an excited opportunity to race —sponsored by the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority the “4 Bridges Ride” is a 26 mile charity ride that allows cyclists an opportunity to cross the Verrazzano, Pell, Sakonnet and Mt. Hope Bridges connecting the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. The event will be held on September 15, 2019 starting in North Kingstown and finishing on the campus of Roger Williams University in Bristol. Newport Wine & Food Festival- September 19 - 22


Have never been to this spectacular event in Newport? It’s a two-day Grand Tasting with hundreds of wines under the big tents on the lawn of Marble House with Celebrity chef appearances and cooking demonstrations by national, regional and local chefs. An extravaganza and fun opportunity to taste your way around the Newport Mansions. More info and tickets can be found here.

Harbor Lights Festival Newport - September 20 - 21

Free admission and fun for all! The first ever Harbor Lights Newport hits the Newport harborfront on September 20 - 21, 2019 as boat owners, marinas and waterfront businesses illuminate their vessels, docks, yacht clubs, shops and restaurants with festive lights from dusk until 10 PM on both nights. Illuminated boats will remain in their slips and on their moorings as you stroll, shop and dine along the waterfront decorated with colorful lights and decor to kick off the end of summer.


Music at the Fort - September 19

One of the best parts about summer — outdoor music— is not over! Enjoy the last free outdoor music series with refreshments and a beautiful view provided by the Fort - all you need is a blanket or chairs to enjoy a beautiful evening in Newport.
