We’re also introducing our “Ride the Rails” package this month. This is a chance to take part in a unique experience along Rhode Island’s retired railroads while taking in the lesser-known (but just as beautiful) water views and hidden scenes of Rhode Island’s back roads. You’ll pedal a tandem bike (suitable for all levels of activity) and stop for a picnic packed by us on the Southern Route. For more about this package, click here.

If you’re coming for the Fireworks, be sure to remember they are happening early this year. The 4th of July fireworks display will be on July 2nd and we hope you’ll join us. While we are convinced the best place to watch the fireworks is here at the inn on our private rooftop deck, guests can find various places in Newport to enjoy the colorful display.

The Newport Music Festival returns this month for a chance to view and listen to a classic assortment of world renowned artists in amazing places, like the Breakers Mansion. Advance tickets are required for most events but the line-up does include a few free outdoor concerts. For the full brochure and list of events, click here.

If you’re in town from July 8- 13th you don’t want to miss your chance to view the 12 Meter Championships. This is the largest-ever gathering of 12 Metre yachts in the United States featuring more than two-dozen boats from seven countries! The 2019 12 Metre World Championship fleet will span the years 1928 -1987, include seven America’s Cup defenders and challengers, and be sailed on Rhode Island Sound, the site of nine America’s Cup competitions from 1958-1983. While it may be crowded, you can watch the excitement from Fort Adams. Click here for more about the 12 Meter Championships.

If you like to shop, check out Newport Experience’s “Sip and Shop” this month at the beautiful Ocean Cliff. Wednesday July 10th for $5 admission you can browse local boutiques and designers while enjoying complimentary champagne and light snacks!

The Annual Newport Kite Festival will take place at Brenton Point State park again this year July 13 -14 where you can come watch a colorful assortment of kites take over the park- admission is free and kites will be available for purchase.

You may have been to the International Tennis Hall of fame before- but perhaps you haven’t witnessed a real tournament…this month is your chance as the ITHF welcomes the Open for the Van Alen Cup. Tickets can be purchased online here with opens for day tickets or the sull series.
